Meet DUVAL DUCK!
Duval Duck was inspired by and is dedicated to proud Duval citizen and our founder's cousin, Downtown Robert Brown. Duval County has a culture all its own and win or lose, The Jags are our hometown team. Downtown Robert Brown loves watching football and going to the games and hollering out the familiar chant, "DUUUVAL" that has taken on a life of its own amongst citizens.

What's Up With the Rubber Ducks?
Hi, My name is Sherry. I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and currently reside just a bit further south, in St. Augustine. I have raised a family of five with my husband, Rob. My first career was as a school teacher. I am currently working in the field of Recovery Support. I facilitate trainings on wellbeing and recovery from mental health and substance use issues. I help individuals who are in long-term recovery use their lived experience to mentor and guide others who are just starting on their road to recovery. I love learning and researching and developing curriculum. Part of my role is to help individuals prepare to take the state exam in Florida to become Certified Recovery Peer Specialists and to help current Specialists advance their careers through professional development.

What does this have to do with ducks?
Nothing!
This is a creative outlet for me. I love fun stuff and rubber ducks are fun! My love of rubber ducks started with owning a Jeep. After I got my Jeep, my sister asked, "Have you been ducked yet?" I said, "I don't think so, I don't know what that is or if it's a good thing." She responded, "Look it up, it's a thing." Months later, the first time someone left a cute rubber duck on my car- I was so giddy. I started collecting them and giving them away. I don't even own a Jeep anymore, but I kept sketching out rubber ducky characters and thought about designing my own line of rubber ducks. I looked into it and thought that it was not practical and probably a silly thing to do with my time. Besides, I didn't even have a Jeep anymore, what business did I have being crazy about rubber ducks!?
UM what? I had to check myself- rubber ducks are fun for anyone who finds them fun. That would be me! I think they are fun! Do I define myself or let others define me? I can do anything I want with my time, right?!
(Note: this part of the story is me empowering anyone that needs to hear it to chase your dreams!)
I kept thinking about it and kept talking to people and finally met and spoke with Craig Wolfe, President of CelebriDucks out in California. I went from hesitation to "Why not?" in the space of a single phone call that lasted only 3 minutes because I was on a quick break from facilitating a training and that's all I had time for.
Who knows what will become of this? But I've got one wild and quacky life and I decided to have some fun with it. My son, Jakey, has always been a creator of sorts and has been a great thinking partner in bringing our first Quackaloony Duck to life.
